Dear Brian: great to see you launching an new era, I can see you are enjoy it. It's your right career, you will get big feedback from it . So,加油( Cheer up )!
Hey Brian, glad to be here. This is shaping up to be a really great resource. I've been hired to do some floor plan renderings for a hotel here in Costa Rica. Do you have any hand drawn floor plan examples you could show me? Thanks, and keep up the good work.
Hey Brian, any luck finding some floor plan examples? Specifically I'm interested in how to ground the drawing with foliage and whatnot around the building. Thanks a lot man.
Very nice. I'm a big fan of the sidebars with precedent ideas. Some of my professors in the past have told me precedents don't belong on my boards but I think they're an important part of the process. Glad to see you think so too :)
Thanks for the cheery note!
No, sorry Brian, Stanford has neither architecture, landscape architecture nor horticulture, worse luck. Only Berkeley has a MA LA program, maybe Arch. Too.
My husband teaches here; I’m a landscape designer. I think this site will be very helpful.

Brian - THANKS! I wonder if we could have groups or some way of tagging renderings with the medium used? Like "watercolor" "colored pencil" and "marker"? Esp. since this is all about graphics.
Hi Brian. The first workshop I took was January '98 in Manhattan, KS. The second was a workshop at Virginia Tech a few years later. I was also a TA at a workshop in KS (July 2001, I believe).
I am interested in attending the SF 2 day workshop in August 2011 and I need to submit to my college for funding the trip. The website doens't have precise info on the time lines for the days (I know the other ones mention 14hr days) This would allow a stay the day before and day after. Also when you click on register it only gives you the week long option. I will need to get my request to my college in by December.
Thanks,
Peter
Thank you Brian. I am a huge fan of yours and Mike's work. I've learned so much from the books and would love to attend a workshop someday. Any chance there will be a workshop on the east coast in the future? Thanks.
Thanks Brian, I am very impressed with this web site. I especially like the discussions and photo section. I am also excited to see beautiful works done by all these great artists in this site.
Really glad you and Mike could drop by my school for the demo. I am not sure if you're presentation and approach is the same way as your dad, but I really enjoy his push positive-attitude and his comical stories that goes with his artwork. I also like how his passion and hardwork shows in all of his art as well as this site. Even though I am graduating every this year, I hope you guys can come again so the underclassmen can be inspired if not anything else.
Thanks! I was wondering if you knew about the workshop tomorrow at Cal Poly in the Fishbowl Gallery...I have class until 4 PM and the workshop starts 3 PM. I would love to go but I will be an hour late. Do you know if that would be alright?
Thanks Brian. I'm looking forward to looking around the site. While I haven't been able to attend a workshop, Drawing and Designing with Confidence has been a very useful tool
Hey Brian, I am interested in the workshop in Las Vegas this January~ I am going alone and worried about the accommodation. I talked to Jean Kim and she said you guys will arrange it for me. Could you tell me more information about that? such as the location and the price. I would really appreciate your help! best wishes.
Thanks for checking in. Prior to Photoshop color, I scan all of my line drawings at 300dpi. In rare cases higher, if it's for a jobsite billboard, but 99.9% of the time I use 300.
I took the workshop in the summer of '04. I had just finished my first year in the MLA program at the University of Arizona. I wasn't too happy with the classes being taught so I was debating whether to stop when I thought I'd give Mike's workshop a shot. It was terrific in the sense that he really instilled in me the feeling that we are designers and that is really the essense of this profession. Anyway, I went on to finish the program with much more enthusiasm and got a job at a firm in Tucson.
Unfortunately the economic crash ended that job, but hopefully things will pick up again in Tucson. Good luck with this site; it's encouraging to see people like yourself and Mike work hard to energize this profession at the grass roots level. Mike should be given credit for all the barnstorming work that he's done.
Hi Brian - quick question: I thought I saw somewhere online that you are offering another 12 day seminar in Vegas from May 23 - June 3, 2011. Are you? I can't seem to find info on any spring seminars on ur website. I've been receiving your e-mails/newsletter for over a year & think I really need to attend your 12 day program to take this skill to the next level in my career. I'm not able to attend the Jan 2011 one because I'm in Singapore right now on a 6 week work sabbatical from my job in the US, working on an MFA research project & scoping out the job market here.
Thanks!
Aimee
