I am theatre producer by day and practising set and stage designer by night :)
Furthermore I have great interest in archtecture and urban design;
I have completed BA in spatial design yet my line drawing skills and hand drawing presentation ability are in need for huge improvement.
I get around by using 3d software for my designs whenever they need to get off the napkin stage; but I still hope that my case is not a lack of talent but a skill that I can yet to accomplish;
I have stumbled accross Mike's book looking for one to guide me and although I'm not strickly in architecture, I use the same tools and could benefit from the same advise - I hope;
I get inspired by looking at the amount of great work around here and keep hopeful;
Thanks for the happy birthday wish, Brian! You and your dad have a great page. I just uploaded some content to flush out my page more. Hope the workshop is continuing to flourish in Vegas (it was in KS when I went.)
Thank you! Too sweet~! Sorry to miss everyone in Vegas at the end of March and the end of April. Looks like I MIGHT be coming to San Francisco on business. We'll see! I will let you know. Take care and hopefully talk to you soon! Give my best to the fam! d
Heh Brian, Thanks for the BD wishes....all is well! Hope all is well with you and your family.I sure do enjoy the graphics website and alway get inspired when I go there.Thanks for that too! I'm going to check out your videos now.-All the best!!!
Hope this message finds you well. Just hooked up with our friend Yohannes last night @ UCLA. Watched him working on an architectural model in the wood shop. I'm getting into concept art and production design, down here in Hollywood. Will be here till around September. I will try to post an art piece of one of my Haunted Mansion concepts. I see that there are so many talented Architects attending your workshop. Very impressive!
It s been awhile since last spoke. Yah, you don't even leave me a msg while you were here last time ?? ! it s ok, I understand your busy schedule. I just came back from Asia a couple weeks ago and the cotai development over there always remind me of you. :)
Where are you working now ? besides helping Mike ?
Hi Brian,so glad to join this website and getting to know someone like you,I guess art and graphic have brought us together eventhough we're very far apart.Knowing now that you're the son of the famous Mike LIn,I feel really honoured to have you as a friend and it was way back in 1986 that I got to know your father thru his book Designing with Confidence.I guess Mike Lin really have a great impact on my drawing all this years,thank you so much.
Hi Brian,I'll compile some of my drawing to show the various process done,some drawn directly from plan as reference,some from site photo,some using SketchUp as a base and sometime spontaneously or from thumbnail sketches.Should I email it to you or just add to my photo?I'll try to upload the drawings in the next few days.Thank You.
Attended a journalling workshop given by our good friend Connie Furgason (Sidney-by-the-sea) and she mentioned you. (I do illuminated medieval miniatures, for my sins)
Could do with some perspective though. When are you coming to the paradise of Vancouver Island, Victoria?
Thanks! It was great meting you in person and your son, I hope I can met Mike one day. By the way, may I sit-in one of the day in workshop at West Valley? I also would like to confirm with you about having a Sketching workshop fro us on May 6th at San Jose State. I will give you a call next week. Thanks!
I've already email some of my drawings together with a brief description for each one.I hope it's good enough and sufficient to be featured in the blog.Looking forward for the post and I am very glad to share those drawings in this wonderful website.
It's a new manufacturing facility for First Solar - it's a little deceiving in the rendering, but the bldg is 1.3 million sq ft and like their other facilities they've covered the roof in solar panels. It was a great project to be a part of. Thanks for taking a look -
Thanks Brian, I've attended the amazing Be loose workshop in 1995, I have not met you at that time, I wish if i meet you in near future, I'm thinking to resharpening my skills this summer, but it seems the two weeks workshop in Las vegas is too close date, is there any other two weeks later? My Regards to your Dad, he is one of my great mentors and instructors i've ever met,,,,
I would like to take this time to thank for giving me a place in your website, it is an honor to be a member. Also give my regards to Mr. Mike Lin. I workes in all medias, and magic markers in my main rendering tools. But because of the present market we all need to know all kinds of rendering tools. I am an Architect back home in the Philippines and here in the States I worked as an architectural designer and the same time an Illustrator to our company here in Illinois, Airoom Architectural and Builders. Most of the worked done in traditional marker rendering then final product in photoshop. Again Thanks and also to your comment.
I'm looking forward to meeting you. I would be interested in sharing a room to keep the cost down. So if anyone else asks please feel free to let me know.
Thanks Brian. I am actually specifically looking for perspective charts down here in New Zealand as I am currently studying landscape design and have a 2 point perspective assignment to work on over the next 10 days. Do you know if the Beloose charts come in metric measurements? Or does it matter too much if I use American measurements for concept drawings?
Hi Brian, I will be ordering one of your perspective sets in the end as the only metric set that I could find are from germany and it was going to cost more to freight it to NZ than the cost of the charts themselves - $160 NZD in freight alone! It just means a bit of math calculation is required, which I am sure I can handle. Thanks,
Hey Brian - In a business setting he is intolerable. I was recently being considered as the Interior Designer for his new 3-lot home in Las Vegas. The designers that were currently working with him recommended me after they decided to "walk" following on-going irrational behavior by Sheldon. After serious consideration, I decided to do the same. My position is that he is intolerable.
BeLoose did such a great job. I graduated from the Master program of Landscape Architecture at UW-Madison. I hope I could be your level someday.Hope to talk with you more.

Ok, thanks for your quick reply Brian. I might try and track down a metric set as that will save me a lot of time with less math calculations!
