    Good Morning, Brian -

Thanks for getting in touch with me.  I was telling my husband about your seminars as I know improving my drawing speed and techniques could be quite beneficial to my work.  I'm looking forward to meeting with you this fall.  Please keep me updated on cost and dates so I can plan ahead.  Good luck this weekend with your seminar.  Gina

Brian - The work of a landscape architect, who has taken the BeLoose workshop, has always impressed me.  I asked her where she learned her approach and if she had a graphic art background.  Since she had no real previous training, she gives BeLoose all the credit for her fresh graphics.  I have some art background, paint a bit, am a photographer and am interested in learning an approach that I can use to capture what I see when traveling.  My painting is slow and photography to quick and not as cathartic as more active art making - so I am hoping BeLoose might fill that gap.

Thanks for the nice wishes, Brian! It would've been a better weekend if I had spent it at that 2-day workshop! One of these days... :)

Thanks for the welcome, Brian. I was curious when/where the next 2-week workshop is scheduled for, or if there are any plans for a workshop in the Minneapolis area or Chicago.

Hi Brian. I really enjoyed hearing you speak (and of course, draw) at the workshop. Good luck with your teaching plans. I look forward to hearing how you are doing. Keep in touch, Wendy

Thanks for the welcome Brian, and I'm always fond of the Manhattan connections! :)  I actually signed on here to find your brother's information to discuss a separate question with him. That said, this is an impressive online community! I'm excited to keep exploring!

    Brian,

Thank you. I'm looking forward to being a part of this group. I too would be interested in another class. Chicago would be wonderful. My goal is to combine hand drawing with sketchup and photoshop. I feel this will add greatly to my practice.

    Brian,

Thanks, I would love to know more about the process you use.  I have both of Mike's books. Will he be introducing a new one soon?  I use PowerCadd for my landscape plans and would like to add modeling and more hand rendering.  It's difficult to find time to learn and practice.  I just need to do it.  Also I am a Mac user and love everything Apple.

    Stay Loose!

    Brian.

Hope things are a little more relaxed now that you don't have to come to the hotel every night.  Well, in the BeLoose workshop you mentioned that every landscape architect should learn at least one type of BMP.  I currently have three installed on my laptop and really only want to learn one, and am trying to figure out which is best.  I have Autodesk Revit, Autodesk 3DS Max, and Autodesk 3DS Max Design.  I have heard that the best of these to are the 3DS programs, and that currently many architects and designers use 3DS max design, but it also comes with the steepest learning curve.  Just wondering what you would suggest.

Again, thanks for the wonderful time at the BeLoose workshop.

  • REGO

Thank you for your welcome. I'm looking forward to seeing all the things here and what I as a student can learn.

    Hey Brian,

Thanks for your comment on the food court sketch.  The original is roughly 9x6, maybe a little smaller.  Hope you're doing well.

Apologies for the long delay. I attended the 2-day workshop at Michigan State University, and use every bit of it to this day. I really enjoyed it, and would definitely like to find a way to get to a longer workshop. Thanks for all you do!

Thanks Brian....retired last month and am now trying to teach myself the skills you provide on your website and those found in Mike's books.    Although last week I was visiting Paso Rables and San Luis Obispo (too much wine and great food - Mamas Meatballs was great).  Is there a video on use of the perspective charts you sell?  Bill

Had a wonderful time in Kansas Brian! Thank you for all your help with the seminar, your insights were greatly appreciated and helpful in helping me to see how important hand drawing techniques are to the Architecture industry. I am still digesting all the information I received from your father and the other speakers. Thank you for taking the time to teach others...hope to see you sometime soon out in California.

    Regards,

    Marcel

    Brian,

Forgive me for not sending you a message of thanks when you first welcomed me to the site -- I didn't realize that you did it!  I've enjoyed receiving tips & watching videos, etc.  I would love to attend a workshop at some point -- I'm not sure when that would be possible, as, geographically, I'm pretty isolated up in Maine!  Also, workshops often occur when I'm busy teaching -- also, the cost is limiting for my salary, but I do have the opportunity to apply for a travel grant.  This opportunity is why I want to ask -- do you know when and where (and if??) there will be more 7-day workshops in 2013?

    Thanks for your time!

    jy

  • Jaina Young

PS - I love KState -- I'd definitely travel back down there for the workshop!! :oD
