It was a pleasure meeting you and I'm glad that you had a great time at the workshop. My advice would depend on what you want to focus on. 3DS Max is more focused on design, where Revit is a pure BIM program to produce construction documents. Revit has a steeper learning curve, but if you want to purely focus on design, I would put my money on 3DS Max. However, because both programs are AutoDesk products, you may find similarities in their tools and products...so the learning curve of learning BOTH might be worth the effort.
