We are honored to put a spotlight on the work of Malaysian landscape designer and talented illustrator Abdul Hakim Kussim. Abdul's drawings are have a gestural quality that highlights design thinking and the constant iterative design process.
Hj Hakim works with a variety of media ranging from pencil, ink, colored pencil, watercolor and markers and utilizes the overlay/trace process method which is fast and effective as design ideas are being generated. Figure 2: Pencil drawing on bond paper with view of the entrance using the plan as reference and the drawing was constructed initially as an elevation drawing and latter adding the background to create a sectional perspective drawing.
